ERDDIG

Nadya was in residence at National Trust Erddig and the North East Wales institute (now Wrexham Glyndŵr University) between 2003 and 2004 where she worked with Fine Art students and three local primary schools to produce a sculpture for each school and exhibitions of work by all participants. “We were keen to encourage a sense of ownership of Erddig as a site for people living nearby and so we organised visits to the property for the schoolchildren to work there as often as we could. It was a privilege to be there during the winter months when the site was closed to the public and we had it to ourselves. I spent a lot of time looking at pattern in the domestic objects inside the house and some of the fretwork I produced was inspired by this.” This project was commissioned by The National Trust and ArtWorks Wales.
