“I was keen to explore the historic site of the Gallery which was once a warehouse. With the help of the history department at the University of Hull, I looked back at the origins of the city to pick out significant traded materials, wool for Scandinavian timber, and significant locations connected to the gallery space. I chose the country’s first and largest inland dock, now Queen’s Gardens to make small interventions to suggest the site’s past use.”
